This is a really cool, somewhat new search engine site. Basically, it is kind of like a bigger filter for when students are doing research so that they don't come across inappropriate content. While computer programming certainly is not a new "thing," it is becoming a hot topic amongst educators and students. This awesome article is about something near and dear to my mommy heart---LEGOS!! I admit I hate the little boogers at home--I am always vacuuming them up and if you lose just one little piece you literally cannot build whatever that $45 kit was supposed to be. However, I have used Legos quite a bit in my classroom and this article has some new and exciting ways of incorporating them into not only the elementary classroom but also the middle grades and even high school--beginning coding who knew?

Unless you have been living on an island for the past 5 years, you have heard of MineCraft once or 8 million times. My oldest child likes to go into grave detail about all the structures he is building. So, as a teacher I had written this off as just ANOTHER game that, okay, is kind of teaching engineering skills. I guess. Well, this is so not the case! MinecraftEDU was designed to piggy back off of the popular game so that teachers could incorporate the program into today's curriculum (all of the subjects...ALL of them).
